My First Soldered Necklace

Well... I've been wanting to start making jewelry and I got my first necklace finished.. It took a few tries, but I finally got the technique down.. I think it turned out great! I love the black and white glass beads and I can't wait to wear it...

As you may know... I've been helping my friend plan her wedding... And we've decided we're gonna be comfortable for the day.. So, I've made these adorable flip flops for us. The bridesmaids will be wearing the brown ones and of course, the white ones are for the bride. Who said comfy can't be glamorous and CUTE!

Craft Room Makeover

So, I've done a total makeover of my scrapbook room.. I added some new furniture, took out some old furniture and revamped stuff that I already had... I had just bought a new desk and then decided to redo everything and the desk didn't match the new stuff... so I covered it in paper. I LOVE it! It's so fun! Just thought I'd share some pictures. I don't think I can fit one more piece of paper in here, but it's such a fun place to create! Now I never want to leave this room!

Update on my Uncle

I have great news! My uncle will be going home tomorrow and he is doing fantastic. Today, he's actually meeting the girl that donated her kidney to him. Can you imagine?? What an emotional experience. What do you say to someone that saved your life!!! The girl is only 23 and she did it so her mom could get a kidney. It's going to be all over the news tonight! I am so thankful and so relieved!!!

Thank you, whoever you may be... You have given me my Uncle Scott back... The world wouldn't be the same without him!!!

Oh Happy Day!!!

First, I want to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day... I hope everyone is having a fabulous day... I know I am!!! My heart is filled with love and I am so thankful for everyone I have in my life. This day is extra special for me because something truly amazing is taking place at this very moment. My uncle Scott, who I love so very much, is getting a new kidney today! He had a transplant 10 years ago and did very well until about 3 years ago. His kidney failed and he's been on dialysis ever since. He's been waiting patiently for this day to come and it has finally arrived. A couple of months ago, his Dr. informed him that they were going to do a "kidney swap". The way it works is: If you need a kidney, you have to have someone whose willing to give up a kidney for someone else. And it's kind of like a chain effect. There are 12 people involved~ 6 living donors and 6 recievers and all of these people are in some way involved with the other... So, my uncles' sister Cindy is donating her kidney, so that my uncle can recieve a kidney. Cindy went into surgery this morning to have hers removed and she is doing great! Her kidney is going to a lady in St. Louis. A little confusing, but an amazing outcome. I am overwhelmed at the generosity and kindness of all that are involved. There is no greater gift than the gift of life. I ask that you will all keep these families in your prayers. What a great day this is for so many. I'm happy to report that my uncle's kidney is in and he's doing as well as expected at this time. I will certainly keep you all posted! I love you Scott!!

So Much Fun!

Today was the first day of An Affair of the Heart in OKC.... A huge craft show... I went with my friend Bobbie and helped her with her booth... We had sooooo much fun!!! Her booth was adorable and I really enjoyed spending the day with her!!!
