Time has really gotten away from me the past few months.... Between kids, hubby deploying (again) and just life in general, I have really slacked on keeping up with my blog... This basket is filled with stuff to be auctioned off at the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on April 8 , 2011 at 6:30! All proceeds are going to The Peery Family. Chad Peery, an Oklahoma City Police Officer, was badly beaten last week, while off duty and left paralyzed. He has a wife and four children. He is in for the fight of his life... PLEASE say a prayer for Chad and his family!

Between the holidays and the kids, I have been soooo busy... I haven't posted anything in awhile.. But, I'm still creating! Here are a couple of desks I did recently for my dear friend, Lacey. They are going in her craft room. She makes beautiful jewelry... The desks were pretty ugly before... but, as you can see, they turned out beautiful. I used some beautfiul paper, added some glitter and used a boa for the handles! I love the colors she chose for her space. Now, she's creating in style!! Sooooo.... I decide to do a complete makeover in my daughters room!!! It was hot pink and black and very cute... but decided to go soft and girly and shabby chic!!! I found this great dresser for a steal and gave it a complete makeover... I L O V E the way it turned out!!! I had this old nightstand and redid it to go with the dresser and transformed this little lamp, too!!! But, my favorite is this picture I created with an old frame I had. It says "Like stardust glistening on fairies wings, Little girls dreams are of magical things" How sweet is that!!!! Lots more to do... make some valances, paint and distress the bed, add some finishing touches... but I really love how this is coming together!!! I'll share the finished product when it's complete!!! Hopefully, very soon!!!!

A friend of mine is redoing her daughters room for her 12th birthday! So, yesterday we decided she needed a fun desk to go in her "new" room. This is one of my favorite projects!!! It truly went from trash to treasure... A friend of mine told me she put an old desk in the trash, so I went and picked it up.. what a transformation!!! I painted it, added lots of fun paper and some rhinestones... Spray painted the drawer pulls and that's it! The before and after pictures say it all!!!

Just a few things I've been doing the past couple of weeks... Besides packing and getting ready to move to NC... I've been pretty busy! First, I made this adorable outfit for my friends' daughter for her 3rd birthday... It's so adorable!

I painted my kitchen table and re-covered the chairs... I LOVE it! My husband walked in and thought I bought new furniture.

A girl ordered a book from me for her son... She wanted something she could put pictures in throughout his years of school! It turned out really cute! So, now I'm off to paint a desk and make another book!

It's been a whirlwind!

The past couple of months have been so crazy! And lately I've been going non stop. I've had so much going on, I've barely had time to check my email or blogs. I can't catch up. Deep breath! Between planning a wedding, birthdays, helping my parents move, re-doing two kitchens and taking care of 3 kids on top of all that... I'm exhausted! The wedding was this past Saturday. It was beautiful! Pictures coming soon!
I'm going to take one more deep breath, then start again! My husband is in the Marine Corps and we recently got orders to North Carolina. We will be moving May 10th. So, time to start packing and getting organized! I have about 7 weeks, then we'll be on our way! I'm excited and sad.. I'll be moving away from my family again. This is our 8th move in 10 years! I'm a pro now! The good thing is we're going back to NC where a lot of my friends are. I haven't seen any of them since we moved away 3 years ago. Military life is such a hard life, but it makes me so proud of my husband. He's such an extraordinary person and it's guys like him that make us feel safe and proud to be an American. So, I will put my chin up and start over one more time. In the end, it's all worth it!

So, I'm finally posting some pictures of my daughters birthday... I made this little runway and the girls all dressed up.. We did hair and makeup and had a ball... They danced and "strutted" on the runway! I'm tired, though! We had her family party last Thursday, her fashion party with her friends on Saturday afternoon. Then Saturday evening we went to my parents and celebrated my husbands birthday, which was Saturday, and then went to a friends birthday party on Sunday.... No more birthdays... PLEASE! LOL... Anyway, I'm finally rested up from the crazy weekend. I do have to brag though... I've been on a die hard diet the past 2 months so I can fit into my dress for the wedding I'm in next weekend and talk about being tested!!! With 4 birthday parties and a total of 6 cakes... I didn't eat one piece!! Now that's some will power!!

Craft Room Makeover

So, I've done a total makeover of my scrapbook room.. I added some new furniture, took out some old furniture and revamped stuff that I already had... I had just bought a new desk and then decided to redo everything and the desk didn't match the new stuff... so I covered it in paper. I LOVE it! It's so fun! Just thought I'd share some pictures. I don't think I can fit one more piece of paper in here, but it's such a fun place to create! Now I never want to leave this room!

Update on my Uncle

I have great news! My uncle will be going home tomorrow and he is doing fantastic. Today, he's actually meeting the girl that donated her kidney to him. Can you imagine?? What an emotional experience. What do you say to someone that saved your life!!! The girl is only 23 and she did it so her mom could get a kidney. It's going to be all over the news tonight! I am so thankful and so relieved!!!

Thank you, whoever you may be... You have given me my Uncle Scott back... The world wouldn't be the same without him!!!

Oh Happy Day!!!

First, I want to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day... I hope everyone is having a fabulous day... I know I am!!! My heart is filled with love and I am so thankful for everyone I have in my life. This day is extra special for me because something truly amazing is taking place at this very moment. My uncle Scott, who I love so very much, is getting a new kidney today! He had a transplant 10 years ago and did very well until about 3 years ago. His kidney failed and he's been on dialysis ever since. He's been waiting patiently for this day to come and it has finally arrived. A couple of months ago, his Dr. informed him that they were going to do a "kidney swap". The way it works is: If you need a kidney, you have to have someone whose willing to give up a kidney for someone else. And it's kind of like a chain effect. There are 12 people involved~ 6 living donors and 6 recievers and all of these people are in some way involved with the other... So, my uncles' sister Cindy is donating her kidney, so that my uncle can recieve a kidney. Cindy went into surgery this morning to have hers removed and she is doing great! Her kidney is going to a lady in St. Louis. A little confusing, but an amazing outcome. I am overwhelmed at the generosity and kindness of all that are involved. There is no greater gift than the gift of life. I ask that you will all keep these families in your prayers. What a great day this is for so many. I'm happy to report that my uncle's kidney is in and he's doing as well as expected at this time. I will certainly keep you all posted! I love you Scott!!

An Affair of the Heart is Oklahoma's biggest craft show... I have a great friend who will have a booth there. She is so talented and creates beautiful pieces. She recently asked me to be a part of a new adventure she's starting. My Best Friends Wedding

So, my best friend of 15 years is getting married and I'm honored to be the Matron of Honor... The wedding is March 21,2009 and I've been quite busy helping her get everything ready. Of course, since I'm the crafty one, I've been asked to make everything. But I have to admit.... I've enjoyed every minute of it! Just wanted to share some pics of the beautiful things I've made. The bouquets are done, and we've tied ribbon around 100 bottles of bubbles, the guest book is one of a kind and the card box turned out perfect! I'm so lucky to share this beautiful day with her.

With the holidays upon us...wow, I've been busy...Done a lot of shopping and I hope that my kids have the best Christmas ever...but, I also hope they know the true meaning of Christmas. It's not about the presents it's about the birth of Jesus . I'm thankful that I have such an amazing family and the holidays are always special with so many people to celebrate with. It's been a long year and we've had some tough times, but I"m certain this next year is going to bring great things. Here's a picture of my 3 kids... It took about 40 pics to get this ONE great one. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the way this shadow box turned out.. I needed something to get me in the holiday spirit and this definitely did the trick... I found this vintage Santa picture and had fun glittering it up... Added some red tulle and tons more glitter...It just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when I look at... And the scroll I added really was the final touch. I made it to sell at my Holiday Open House I'm doing next week, but now I might just keep it... And on to the next project... Here we go.........

Christmas is my favorite time of year.... and it will be here before we know it!!! I'm gonna be ready for the shoppers this year!! I have been invited to sell my cute things at a Holiday Open House. There will be lots of fun stuff to buy and some really yummy food!!! Flyers have been mailed and it's going to be held the day after Thanksgiving, so all the shoppers should be out in full force... So, I'm off to whip up some fun stuff to sell. Gives me a great excuse to hang out in my craft room all day long :) I'll post some pics soon.

Marine Corps Ball

What a crazy weekend...Been so busy, haven't even been on here in a couple days. My husband has been in the Marine Corps for 12 years and we go to the Marine Corps Ball every year. It was last night, we had so much fun. But, I'm tired today. Not used to partying til 3 in the morning, and those Marines can do some partyin!!! It was fun, though. Get to wear a formal and get all glammed up...Nice break from the kids too. :) We had a great time...and we'll do it all over again next year!!!

Kitchen Remodel

So, my aunt called me a couple of weeks ago, panicking because her daughter in law asked her to host her baby shower ...Well, the panicking was because my aunt hasn't redecorated her house in, literally, 30 years.... So, she asked if I'd come over and just add some "updated decor"... Well, I can't just do something simple, if I'm gonna redo the kitchen, I'm gonna redo the kitchen... :) So, she handed over the credit cards and I went to work... In five days, I redid the cabinets and transformed her 1980's kitchen into a Tuscan Villa...She's always wanted a tuscan kitchen because of her Italian heritage. I did a faux finish on the walls, added lots of warm, rich colors... and distressed the newly painted cabinets. They added beautiful hard wood floors this past week and it just looks amazing. I had so much fun doing it.... Here are some before and after pics!!!

Here are some fun Holiday gift ideas...A great thing to give to a friend or to a family member. They are so personal and a great way to show off your favorite photos. Or go for the altered paint can and fill it with your favorite candy.... And, not to mention, they're so fun to make...I had a blast creating these...using all the fun papers and embellishments...Can't wait to make more!!!

So here are my 3 precious children...They are my life...They keep me going everyday and I'm so blessed have them...I made this chest for my mom, whom I couldn't survive without. She does so much for the kids and I and so I wanted to show her how much she is loved. So, I built this chest for her birthday...She LOVES it!!! It turned out much larger than I anticipated, but she can fill it with all the things that are dear to hear and it looks great at the end of her bed...
